Creative Hands-On Exploration

FPD teachers incorporate creative classroom engagement opportunities in all lessons. We know it’s important for students to explore outside and experience hands-on discovery.

Establish Critical Thinking Skills

The FPD college-preparatory foundation begins in our lowest grades through the development of critical thinking and problem solving skills. Students learn to apply their skills and knowledge solve new problems, work together as teams, and find creative solutions.

Lower School Co-Curriculars

FPD students enjoy a variety off activities outside the classroom. FPD’s teachers and co-curricular leaders tie lessons together in units so students experience their studies from a variety of methods. The curriculum is designed to develop a strong conceptual understanding.

FPD’s elementary art program begins in 3K. Students explore a range of media, learn about famous artists, and create a wonderful art portfolio.

FPD lower school students enjoy a fully-equipped science lab in addition to a range of outdoor nature study opportunities. FPD’s large, 240-acre campus provides ample room for students to explore the outdoors – to touch, see, and hear what they learn in the classroom.

Band and Chorus

In 5th grade, students can choose to participate in FPD’s band or in the chorus program. Both begin the student’s journey in music as they continue in middle school and high school.

After-School Opportunities

Viking Clubhouse & Viking Crew

The Viking Clubhouse provides after-school care until 6:00 p.m. for students in 3K – 2nd grade. Viking Crew is the afterschool hangout for students in 3rd – 5th grade. Students have time for homework as well as fellowship with friends. The Viking Clubhouse also provides care for 3K – kindergarten during the summer.

Center for Discovery Programs

FPD’s Center for Discovery offers a variety of after-school camps and classes for students to explore youth sports leagues, art opportunities, and academic enrichment after school. Parents can select from a variety of programs hosted on FPD’s campus and led by godly mentors.
