Congratulations to FPD’s High School Robotics Team which competed in a FTC regional qualifier on Saturday, January 21, and qualified for the state tournament for the fourth year in a row!
After preliminary rounds at the regional qualifier, the team was in second place out of 32 teams. They made it through semi-finals and for the first time in FTC history, forced a 4th, tie-breaking match! FPD’s High School Robotics adviser, Tami Tesch-Jerles, writes, “I could not be prouder of our team and especially our captain Sam Bass, and directors, Nathan Smith, Ben Hall, John Drinkwater, Gray Simmons, Nathan Smith and Kirsten Williams.”
The team will go to state on February 18 and compete against nearly 100 teams from Georgia, Alabama, and Tennessee. Picture below are the three teams, including the FPD team, that formed the winning alliance.
