FPD proudly welcomes Seth Berkebile to Viking Nation. He will serve as our new girls’ varsity soccer coach. Coach Berkebile has coached soccer for 13 years at various levels. He is currently the Athletic Director and Head Soccer Coach at Wesleyan College. Before he came to Wesleyan, he taught and coached at ACE, winning the 2019 GHSA A State Championship with the girls’ team as assistant coach. Coach Berkebile has also coached club soccer at Macon Soccer Club for the last six years and has his US Soccer National C License.

“We’re excited to have Coach Berkebile on board, and we believe he will do a great job carrying our strong soccer tradition forward with the girls’ team,” Athletic Director Greg Moore said.

He and his wife Amy have a son, Grady, who is three, and are expecting their second son, Beckham, in October. Coach Berkebile graduated from Mary Persons High School and then went to Georgia Southern where he received his bachelor’s degree in history.

When he’s not on the soccer field, he likes to play golf. He enjoys attending Atlanta United games and any other sporting event. He also likes to surf and go mountain biking.

“I am excited to be a part of the accomplished history that is FPD athletics and play a small part in continuing the success that so many other coaches and players have built,” Coach Berkebile said. “I know a good bit of the soccer players at FPD and have worked with them in the past, so I look forward to getting back on the field with them!”

FPD is excited for Coach Berkebile to meet our team once the new school year begins. Coach Moore will schedule a meet and greet with the team and Coach Berkebile soon.
