Congratulations to Shannon Bryant – FPD’s 2019-2020 Teacher of the Year!
Mrs. Bryant is FPD’s Lower School Science Instructor and has taught at FPD for eight years. Prior to joining FPD, Shannon served as the Gifted Lead Teacher in Houston County for 17 years. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education, a Master’s Degree in Education, and a Specialist of Education. She also has endorsements in Reading and Gifted Programs. Shannon is a 1993 graduate of FPD, attending FPD from 1st grade – 12th grade. She and her husband, Kevin, have two children at FPD, Sadie ’25 and Tate ’21, as well as a 2018 FPD alumnus, Tucker.
Mrs. Wade Putnal, FPD’s Lower School Principal, had these notes to say about Mrs. Bryant, “Her love for the Lord is evident in all that she does and all that she says. She is a master teacher, willing to learn, adapt, and fulfill any area. All the while, she creatively and intently weaves Biblical worldview in to her lessons.”
The recognition was also a wonderful start to Mrs. Bryant’s transition to FPD’s Lower School Principal. Earlier in the year, Mrs. Putnal announced her retirement at the end of the 2019-2020 school year. Mrs. Bryant will serve as FPD’s new Lower School Principal starting this summer.
